Worship

As believers in Jesus Christ and as a church, worship is what we do. Ephesians 1:5-6 tells us that we have been predestined and adopted through Jesus Christ and according to God’s will “to the praise of the glory of His grace.” All of our lives are to be worship (1 Cor 10:31); however, we are also to worship together regularly as a church body, and we are to encourage one another in unity (Eph 4:2-6; Heb 10:24-25). We believe that corporate worship is done as a church family of believers primarily on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, and it is highlighted by the expository preaching of God’s inspired Word (preaching the whole counsel of God’s Word) in addition to singing praises to our Lord, the giving of our offerings, the regular reading of the Word and prayer. Lastly, we believe that worship is for all ages, and the services and ministries of the church should reflect that.

 Sunday Mornings

Sunday Worship

On Sunday mornings we gather as a church to jointly worship and give glory to Yahweh, the Triune God of the Bible. We welcome visitors to join us as we worship our God. We believe that worship happens continually through those who are redeemed in Jesus Christ, but the church gathers regularly on the first day of the week for joint worship which includes the preaching of God’s Word, Scripture reading, prayer, encouraging one another, singing and the giving of offerings to our Lord to accomplish His mission for the church of making disciples. Because we are the body of Christ with many different age groups and preferences, we believe in a blended worship that seeks to honor God and encourage the saints.

Preaching

We believe that the preaching of God’s Word is central to the mission and health of the church. God’s Word is preached every Sunday in an expository manner (verse by verse, passage by passage) with rare exception for specific theological reasons or for purposes of exhortation. We believe that if the preaching of Scripture is doctrinally sound and faithful to the Lord’s inspired Word, other ministries of the church will fall in line.

Children’s Church

We believe that older children, youth and adults can benefit from sitting under the preaching of God’s Word on a consistent basis. However, we also understand the benefit of instructing our children ten years of age and younger at a level that better meets their understanding.

Prayer

We believe in the value and importance of prayer; therefore, we have a regular prayer meeting on Wednesday mornings. As believers in Jesus Christ, prayer is a privilege and a responsibility.
